To access certain features of the Services, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Identity Claims
When claiming an identity through LMIF, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the individual whose identity you are claiming, or you have legal authority to act on their behalf
- All information provided is accurate and truthful
- You have the legal right to control the use of the likeness, voice, and image associated with the claim
False or fraudulent identity claims may result in account termination and legal action.
5. API Usage and Developer Terms
Developers accessing our API agree to:
- Use the API only for lawful purposes
- Comply with all identity verification requirements
- Honor identity holders' preferences and restrictions
- Report and address violations promptly
- Maintain reasonable security measures
API access may be rate-limited, suspended, or terminated for violations of these Terms or our API policies.
6. Boxing and Enforcement
Identity holders may "box" their identity, which establishes restrictions on AI usage. Platforms using our Services are required to honor these restrictions within the grace periods specified.
Failure to comply with boxing requirements may result in:
- API access suspension or termination
- Reporting to relevant authorities
- Legal liability for unauthorized use
7. Licensing and Payments
Some identity holders may offer licensing terms for use of their likeness. Licensing fees and royalties are governed by individual licensing agreements between identity holders and users.
LMIF may facilitate payments but is not responsible for disputes between parties regarding licensing terms or payment amounts.
8. Intellectual Property
The LMIF protocol, website, documentation, and related materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
Identity holders retain all rights to their likeness, voice, and image. LMIF does not claim ownership of user-submitted content or identity information.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LMIF AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.
Our total liability for any claims related to the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LMIF, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Services
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
